Day 1 : Arrival to Salta

- Welcome to Salta! Upon arrival to the airport you will be greeted by one of our Argentina For Less representatives and taken to your confirmed Salta hotel.

Day 2 : Salta City Tour

- Take some time to relax and explore the city on your own before meeting your guide for your Salta tour in the afternoon. One of the most beautiful cities in the country, Salta, founded in 1582, is characterized by its Spanish feel that distinguishes it from any other Argentinean town. Your Salta tour will take you to some of the most important churches, museums, and colonial monuments in this colonial gem of a city.With your guide, you’ll learn about the Spanish influence that still lingers as you visit the historical center filled with stunning colonial architecture.
- You will then continue on to Cerro San Bernard for a panoramic view of Salta and the entire Lerma Valley before driving to the charming village of San Lorenzo.
- You will also get the chance to see the National University and pay a visit the Mercado Artesanal, a treasure trove of handcrafted items.

Day 3 : Salta Tour to the Clouds

- Today you will explore the spectacular route of the historic and magical Tren de las Nubes, the Train to the Clouds. Following alongside the curving tracks of the Train to the Clouds, this tour covers numerous locations in northwest Argentina, and is among the most famous attractions on any Argentina vacation.
- You’ll first stop in the small town of Campo Quijano before continuing on towards Quebrada del Toro, the Bull’s Gorge. You'll then continue you Salta travel adventure with a visit to the stunning pre-Inca city of Santa Rosa de Tastil, built in the 13th century. From here you will continue on toward San Antonio de los Cobres, a small mining town. The famous Argentine Route 40 takes you through a desert plateau up to the surreal landscape of Salinas Grandes, the grand salt lakes of Jujuy.
- In the afternoon, you will make your way back to Salta, stopping at the overwhelming Cuesta de Lipan and in the village of Purmamarca, located at the base of the gorgeous Cerro de los Colores, the Seven Color Mountain.
- In the late afternoon, you will be taken back to your Salta hotel and have the evening free to explore the city. We suggest spending the evening at a traditional peña or live music show at the famous La Casona del Molino.
Note: This trip does not include the ride on the “Train to the Clouds” track but takes roads that follow the same path as the train does. The train is a separate activity available from April to November. Please consult your travel advisor for further details.

This full day Cafayate wine tour is an excellent way to tour the valley around Salta, a region famous for its exquisite wine production. After leaving Salta’s Lerma Valley behind, you will reach Alemania, an abandoned town that precedes the red mountains of the Quebrada de las Conchas, where erosion has carved curious rock formations. This full day Humahuaca tour combines fantastic scenery with historically-rich sites in the Humahuaca Gorge and surrounding areas. Leaving Salta bright and early, you’ll head north to the province of Jujuy. You will see the small, charming towns of Tumbaya, Purmamarca, Maimara, and Tilcara, many of which still reflect their vibrant pre-Inca traditions.
In Purmamarca, you can feast your eyes on the beautiful Cerro de los Colores, or Seven Color Mountain. In Tilcara, you will visit the Pucara de Tilcara fortress and the Tilcara Archeological Museum.
