We had an absolutely amazing time, and no doubt thanks to your meticulous planning. I know I said it before, but I appreciate all the time you spent emailing me and figuring this trip out to make it perfect, and exactly what I (we) wanted.

Our tour of Cusco was a long day, but our guide was very nice and told us the plan for the day so nothing was really a surprise, except the llama stop at the end, which I loved, because anything with animals gets my two thumbs up. haha! She taught us a lot inside the cathedral and that was my favorite part.

We loved our tour guide in Machu Picchu, Katty. she was so informative and sweet and gave us hugs at the end of our tour, we really really enjoyed our day with her. We tried to find her the next day after our hike but she had left with her next tour and our legs were absolutely shot so we didn't walk much further than necessary!!

Our guide for the Lake Humantay hike was so nice, it was nice to have the same person who gave us the briefing be our guide the next day. Everything he said regarding the timeline and day ahead happened, so I appreciate the transparency. (Ive been on tours where they undercut the driving time, and that sucks not knowing what time youll actually arrive) Juan Carlos was a doll, as well as the team that brought all of us to the first stop. 8 people got out to do the 4 day hike, and 4 of us continued on to do the Humantay hike. The other couple we were with had little to no trouble with the altitude, where my mother and I had a bit of a rougher time. Juan Carlos stayed with my mother and I the whole time, and did not rush us at all. We really appreciated him, even when we reached the top, he didn't rush our time up there, we took loads of pictures and gave us ample time to wander and have some snacks, etc. On the way down he gave me a 2nd walking pole because my calves were still screaming from the MP Mountain hike. I appreciated the time he took with us, and our lunch with him at the campsite was delicious.

Our hotels were wonderful. Maytaq Wasin was in an amazing location and we never were without hot water! Our beds were comfortable and the staff was very kind and helpful. Our hotel in Aguas Calientes was fine, good for one night. There is/was construction happening behind the hotel and had loud music until late at night, I asked the front desk if we could move rooms, which they could not accommodate. I wouldn't mind staying there again, but maybe towards the other side of the hotel. Not exactly something they could control though.

Our free days were needed, and we enjoyed them thoroughly. My mother complimented me multiple times on how well planned the trip was, however I gave you the credit for the free days in between hikes, and a few days to acclimate to the altitude before we set off for the mountains. You knew way better than me!

The trip as a whole was a dream. literally and figuratively. any minor hiccup was quickly resolved and did not in any way take away from the positive experience we had. There is a reason Peru For Less has so many glowing reviews. The machine is well oiled and experienced! I thank you for picking up my initial email where the last guy left off. I can’t say enough great things about how seamless and organized everything was. It was also a fun surprise to meet you picking us up in Lima! I had it in my head that you were stateside and you were handling everything remotely. Friends have asked about the trip and I will send them your way for sure if they do actually book flights!! The portable wifi was so clutch, for translation and directions and staying in touch with back home. Glad we had it.

I really have no recommendations for improvement. Everything was so wonderful. I think I covered everything that you asked in the email, but if you need any more info I can go into more detail

Every transition from hotel to hotel was seamless and we were greeted with open arms from all staff (whether it be driver, tour guide or hotel concierge). My husband and I just returned from our 11 days Peru adventure. We totally loved the mix out of Tour Group and Independent Travel. The trip itself, destinations, dates, transportation was totally customized. Which also gave us the choice to select between 3~5 Star Hotels at each destination. This kind of flexibility you normally only experience when traveling on your own. But of course when planning a trip by yourself you also usually only have yourself to depend on.

We always had the opportunity to contact the company if in need of help. This and the perfect scheduled outline of the trip, including everyone being on time (including taxi drivers!) makes you able to relax and lay back much more than when having to think about every detail by yourself.

Overall our experience with was a very pleasant one. If you look for an itinerary that leaves you with enough space to feel like an adventurer but still provides you with enough safety and comfort of good hotels, this company should be the right choice for you.

Hi Laura!

Sorry about the delay. Our trip was FANTASTIC! It went so smoothly. We never had to wait for our guides or any rides. The hotels were clean and cozy. The representatives we met were knowledgeable and very helpful. We went over our itinerary with each representative, which was nice once we got to a new spot, to be able to go over what that day and next day would look like.

When leaving for our train to Machu Picchu, I realized I had made a huge mistake... I left my passport in my luggage!! I was horrified! I didn’t think I would be able to go. I called the 24 hour emergency line and spoke to someone that told me they would have the driver turn around and try to meet us before the train came, if that didn’t happen he was prepared to meet us at our next location, Aguas Calientes. Which, to my knowledge, was an out of the way drive for him. I was so scared when we didn’t meet him before the train. But! Upon our arrival to Aguas Calientes, the P4L rep was on it. She made some calls and told us that the photocopy of my passport would be sufficient to enter the park for the next two days and to check into the hotel. She even walked to our hotel to help us check in and make sure there were no problems. My mom turned to me and said “Wow, you picked a great company” and I said “I know!” The only reason we brought those photocopies was because of the packing list that YOU sent us! You weren’t even there and you also helped save the day!

This trip was phenomenal, a trip of a lifetime for us. Even with the hiccup of my passport, it went flawlessly! The elevation did not pose an issue for us. We took our pills and climatized.

Our hike up the Wayna Picchu Mountain was one of my highlights of the trip. As well as the food! We had fantastic meals everywhere we went! Traveling with dietary restrictions can be challenging but we really did not have much of an issue! We were able to find vegan options wherever we went. That in itself was a huge relief.

Our trip to the Amazon. All I can say is wow. Wow. I cannot even put into words how amazing that was. It felt like a second vacation. The lodge staff were so accommodating. They went above and beyond every chance they got. The tour guides were awesome. We had so much fun with them. The food... oh the food was so very delicious.. we are still talking about it. The bungalows were so cozy and clean! We really thought insects were going to pose more of an issue. But we didn’t even see one in our bungalow! We went home with ZERO bug bites after spending 4 days in the rainforest!

All in all, this trip, like I’ve said multiple times, was a phenomenal, once in a lifetime, amazing experience! You made this dream come true. I cannot say enough great things about you, the company, and everyone involved. I have CC’d my mom on this email so she can also tell you about her experience. I don’t think one good review is enough.

Overall the trip was fantastic! It exceeded our expectations. Each of the tour guides did a great job - very informative and sensitive to our needs. All reservations, connections and tours were carried out as planned - no hitches or distributions. The only change was an earlier departure of our plane from Cusco to Lima but you guys assured we were informed of the change.

The Posadas Amazonas was a real treat. The facilities were comfortable, clean and well appointed. Really enjoyed the open part of our room to the jungle. The service was really good. They were very attentive to our needs, even surprising us with a cake and bottle of wine for our anniversary. Not sure how they found out but it was nice touch. The tour guide, Uriel was also very informative and attentive. The only thing that was different than what we expected was that we didn't realize the guide would be with us through all the activities (now I understand why) and we did think there would be a menu of activities we would choose from rather than each day planned out. However, what was planned was really enjoyable.

As for Machu Picchu it was amazing. Sometimes when you anticipate seeing something like that you are disappointed when you actually see it in person. Not with MP - it was breathtaking. The only thing unanticipated was the second day hike up mount Machu Picchu was much too strenuous for us. After the first day the guide recognized that and suggested an alternate plan for the day. Worked out really well.

Hotels were also very enjoyable and comfortable. Each provided good service and attention.

Weather for the whole 10 days in Peru was perfect. As for bugs - didn't see too many. As for altitude sickness- we encountered minor effects but managed well. Just took it easy.

Overall it was a really enjoyable time. Thanks for all your help.

WOW!! AMAZING!!

We had a very full schedule and it went perfectly! All our transfers were there on time! Hotel picks were fantastic! Tours were wonderful! Loved every minute of it!

We were truly lucky with the weather except for one day at Machu Picchu where it rained buckets full! So we chose not to hike up the Machu Mountain. Turned out OK cause the day before we hiked the Wayna Pikchu (big one and the small one) and we were both a bit sore! So the tour person helped us book an early train to the hotel Casa Andina. Amazing place! Felt lucky to be there early and enjoy this place. Would have loved to stay another day there it was just that nice!
Loved everything about the Sacred Valley!!

The tour to the salt mines and over the mountain into Cusco in that direction was a very good call! Loved seeing more of the mountains! The hike to Lake Humantay was awesome! We met so many couples that were doing the 4 and 5 day treks that inspired us to do more!

Thank you for putting this together for us in such a professional and inspiring way!!

We arrived home safely with wonderful memories of Peru. We were very pleased with how you put together the puzzle of this trip. In retrospect, we realize just how complicated it is to tailor a trip for each client's schedule and budget. Well done!

I will give you a general summary of our experiences:
Hotels: each hotel was excellent. Location, service, cleanliness, comfort, breakfast - all good to excellent. The Auberge near the train station in Ollantaytambo was a hoot! and the restaurant was incredible - dinner and breakfast!

Tours and guides: all the tours were good. the guides ranged from good to excellent in their knowledge of the history, archeology, flora, fauna, civilizations, art, etc. They were all passionate about their work and their own ancestry in Peru. Many embellished their guiding with personal anecdotes, which were invaluable and entertaining.

Connections and transfers: In Arequipa we received a written message from the organizer about pick up and preparation for the next day. All went well and on time.

Working with you: I was pleased with our communication throughout especially during the tour. Thank you.

I will definitely recommend PFL to my friends who are envious and wish to visit Peru in the near future.

As I briefly stated on our arrival back in UK our sincere thanks go firstly to you for patiently helping me to organize a perfect trip to Peru and also to Peru for Less for setting such high standards and fulfilling them to its customers! The itinerary you created was so exact and clear to us in its instructions that we could prepare ourselves for wherever was next and know that no time would be wasted. Our tickets and information were explained and given at the start so we could confidently enjoy the ease of travelling and as it turned out have no worries about anything.

We were all amazed at the super efficiency of timing and the comfort of the vehicle pickups, the guides all very knowledgeable and informative, the Budget price hotels I requested and you chose were in keeping with the environment/city we were in and way above what we think of Budget standard, we loved the Cusco choice, Amaru Inca, and finally the trains and their journeys were truly amazing!

Having arranged an extra day in each city/town meant we had the correct number of days to experience the areas without being rushed. After having had a half day guided tour, the following extra day in each place gave us a chance to roam around at our leisure doing what travelers/tourists do, eating and drinking the local produce, watching the ‘world go by’ and relaxing in hot springs even!

We came away having discovered that Peru is a fabulous country with its wide variety of remarkable locations. After acclimatizing ourselves to the time difference in Lima we flew to the rainforest lodge (lush and fun, with night walks, creature spotting and reaching the high canopy, Cusco (a beautiful city and a place to start learning about the Inca way of life), Ollantaytambo (a delightful little town, how lovely to sit in the town square in the evening), Machu Picchu (with magnificent ruins and history) and Aguas Calientes (well worth an overnight stay as the setting is great) and finally Lake Titicaca (a very unusual environment).

Everyone we met seemed genuinely pleasant and friendly, the food was good and we only got wet once, the rain lasted for 10 minutes in 13 days in January which is reputedly a ‘wettish’ month.

My family and I cannot think of anything we could have done or had to have made it a better experience. It really was perfect. Thank you!

The trip was fantastic. Everything was so well organized and reliable that after a couple of days I did not feel the need to look at the itinerary anymore - we just did as we were told and it all worked like clockwork! All the representatives in Peru were very professional and were always on time and knew exactly what the arrangements were. The hotels were all very nice indeed and the various bits of travel / restaurant information were spot on. It made for a very enjoyable holiday. In 2003 my wife and I arranged an individually designed trip to Peru, with the help of Peru For Less. It went so smoothly that, when we decided to visit Argentina's Patagonian region, we contacted the company again. We told our Latin America/Peru For Less travel agent, Adriana, where we wanted to go, and how long we wanted to stay at each location. You can pack your day with preplanned activities, from sun up to beyond sundown, if that is what you want. Or, like we did in El Chalten, we had a whole week of free days for our own spontaneous activities.

Adriana arranged all the lodging and transportation, not only between towns but, from bus stations or airports to hotels, from hotels to excursion take off points, etc. Adriana advised us on certain day tours that were exceptional, as well as arranging excursions we already knew we wanted.

We were amazed at how everything happened like clockwork, with never a missed beat. At every transition point, even when a bus or plane was late, there was always someone to meet us and take us to our next stop. It was wonderful, like travelling solo but with everything arranged and guaranteed, like it would be on a group tour.

Between March 1 and March 16, 2020 we were having one of the most spectacular trips of our lives from Ushuaia, at the tip of South America, to El Chalten, in the heart of the Andes, and further north to Bariloche. We had missed the last direct flight to the United States when Argentina closed its borders to the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Not realizing how bad it could get we continued our travels but, when the Argentine government announced it was closing down all domestic travel in a day and a half (buses, trains, and planes), with rumors about closing hotels and restaurants sometime later, we decided it was time to go.

Every airline office in Bariloche had a line of people that stretched around the block. From what we could tell, the airline websites had all crashed. We called Adriana to see if she had any suggestions and she said she’d see what she could do. Finally, around 9:30 at night, we got an email from Adriana with our boarding passes for a flight to Buenos Aires the next morning. Adriana also arranged transportation to the airport, a hotel in Buenos Aires and transportation from the airport to the hotel. As the country went into lockdown quarantine, Adriana made sure we would be able to pass through the police roadblocks on our way to the international airport.

My wife and I started calling Adriana our guardian angel. The people at Peru For Less don’t just take your money, arrange your trip and wash their hands of you. No, Peru For Less stays with you, giving outstanding customer service until you are safely at home. Adriana spent so many hours helping us get out of Argentina and, we are certain, we weren’t the only customers she was guiding to safety. Adriana certainly went above and beyond. Next time we travel to South America, you can bet we will be going with Peru For Less.

My husband and I were both amazed at the level of service PFL provided. You put together the ideal itinerary, our local PFL reps were helpful and informative, all of the drivers were on time, our tours were great and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable, we loved our hotels, the cost was reasonable… we just couldn't have asked for anything more! (We have to send a special shout-out to our guide Dino in the Sacred Valley - fabulous!)

I don't know if you are aware of my call to your assistance line. I'm a little embarrassed. I'm a very nervous passenger. I hate being on two-lane roads and passing other cars, even in the US (just ask my husband!), so I was frightened by the drive from Cusco to the Ollantaytambo train station. I don't think our driver was bad, it's just me. So later I called to see if it was possible to take a train back from the Sacred Valley to Cusco. I don't think the timing would have worked out...instead, the PFL assistant said he would ask our driver to go slow. I didn't really believe that would be possible...but apparently it WAS! It was a lovely, leisurely drive, and not scary at all! (It might just have been a coincidence, but I prefer to think your staff went above and beyond to make that happen for me.)

So, bottom line...perfect! We can't thank you enough. (We wish you would start a new business - "Europe for Less!")
